About Us

Aster Family Resource Centre aims to combat disadvantage and improve the functioning of the family unit.  We work in line with the National Policy framework for children and young people 'Better Outcomes Brighter Futures' 2014-2020.  Aster Family Resource Centre engages with individuals, families, communities and both statutory and non-statutory agencies.

The main aim of our work is to assist, support, facilitate, empower and resource families in our community to improve outcomes for their children.  Our primary focus is on early intervention aiming to promote and protect the health, well-being and rights of all children, young people and their families paying particular attention to those who are vulnerable or at risk.

Aster Family Resource Centre works to increase a family’s capacity for self-sufficiency by building on strengths, enhancing life skills and strengthening community linkages.  We are a participative and empowering resource centre that supports families while building the capacity and leadership of the local community.

Services/programmes/supports are developed, designed and reviewed in collaboration with the local community and other relevant services in the community and based on the needs of the Balbriggan area.
