About Us

Cobh Family Resource Centre group evolved from an open meeting which was held in Cobh in June 1998. The Preschool Service commenced in 2003 along with the Afterschool Service. The Board of Management proudly opened the doors to the centre officially in 2006. The Centre is still managed by a group of Volunteers who make up the Voluntary Board of Management. This Committee meets monthly and more frequently if needed to support the Coordinator in ensuring the Centre is meeting the needs of the community.

Those on the Voluntary Board of Management are non-paid Directors of the Centre. They come from various backgrounds and have the interest of the community at heart.

Since its inception, the centre has grown to now include many services which support families in our local community. Our mission is to support all members of the community, identifying and addressing the needs of families and children, particularly those facing adversity. This will be done through the provision of information, education, training and childcare, in a safe and friendly environment. Through Community Development principles, we will challenge all forms of discrimination and promote fairness and equality within our community.
